SINA Villa Medici

Hotel Tabs

I first visited the SINA Villa Medici in the mid ‘90’s and immediately loved the traditional Florentine décor, the relaxing pool and gardens as well as the outstanding kitchen; at what I would describe as a city resort. Twenty years later, those attributes remain but with a modern twist following a complete renovation in 2017.

The culinary flair at Il Giardino restaurant offers Tuscan specialties with a contemporary twist while the pool and garden still give refuge to weary travelers. You can still find some exquisite examples of fine traditional Florentine antique furniture throughout the property. Now that each room has been meticulously renovated you will find many of the 99 accommodations to be in a more contemporary style so guests can choose between traditional rooms and contemporary style. My favorite rooms have a spacious terrace with views directly towards the fantastic Duomo; a setting that is perfect for a private and romantic dinner. The location is also a plus in that the SINA Villa Medici is within walking distance of most of the city’s attractions yet slightly off the beaten path, assuring a more tranquil environment.

The SINA Villa Medici, a longtime favorite of travel advisors, is continually updating its quality while safekeeping a storied heritage.

Highlights of the SINA Villa Medici include:
• Popular ‘city-resort’ with 99 rooms (inclluding 6 penthouses with terraces and 17 suites), completely renovated in 2017
• Blending antique furniture with more modern contemporary designs
• Easy walking distance to most of the city’s attractions
• Beautifully manicured gardens and swimming pool
• Il Giardino restaurant offering Tuscan specialties  overlooking the pool and gardens
• New Jockey Bar bistro lounge for pre-dinner cocktails
• Spacious fitness club with sauna and steam bath
• The penthouse guest rooms feature lovely terraces and views of the Duomo
